Diary French Christmas –Celebration afternoon. 03 Dec 2008
Location:Tower Road Primary School

Christmas –Celebration afternoon. On 3rd December 2008 Tower Road hosted a French Christmas afternoon. Pupils from Tower Road, Hawthorn Tree, St. Nicholas’ and Fishtoft Primary Schools sang French songs together and then each School performed a piece of their own to the other pupils. This was supported by students from both Boston High School and Boston Grammar School who presented facts (through use of Power Point presentations) about how Christmas is celebrated in France. They also taught the pupils key French Christmas vocabulary. To round off the afternoon, pupils mixed together with each other to work on creating a ‘freeze-frame’ or mini drama sketch to present to the group. The secondary school students joined the groups and shared their French knowledge to develop the drama. Before our guests left, the Tower Road Ocarina Club played ‘Frère Jacques’ and ‘Au clair de la lune’. The afternoon was a great success and was the first of its kind – as the cluster between schools only began in September. We hope to run similar gatherings in the future. Have a look at the photographs.
