Diary The Last Curtain Call 23 Mar 2005
Location:Tower Road Primary School

Today March 23rd at 8.40 saw the last performance of the Tower Road pantomime under the direction of Mr. Pike. The curtain lowered on the final performance of three nights showing "The Ugly Sisters Bite Back." Once again a stunning performance from all those involved as well as an appreciative audience who laughed along with all the jokes. Mr. Pike has been writing and directing the Tower Road "panto" for over 25 years. As some one said " its the longest performing play in Boston." The panto was legendary for its corny jokes, many of which re-surfaced each year, but this added to the enjoyment as well as the references to staff and the locality. In addition the standard of music was also a source of amusement with many rude comments about the choir and their lack of ability. This was all taken in good heart. The final night saw a presentation at the end of the performance to all supporting directors and technical support as well as finally to Mr. Pike. I hope those of you who look at the website will have fond memories of this as each year upto 80 children were involved in this production. If you have please contact us with your anecdotes or story.
