Boston Schools Cross Country Races
Saturday December 10th
The Cross Country Race
Twelve representatives from year 5 and 6 from Tower Road braved a cold December morning to complete in the annual Boston School’s cross country competition.
The boy’s event started the proceedings and Tower Road Colours could be seen making there way to the front. An outstanding performance by Joss put him just outside the medals in 4th place, with Jordan close behind in 8th. Steven and Jake also ran extremely well (12th and 19th) finishing in top third, with Oliver and Kieran (31st and 47th) not too far behind. Michael, who ran despite not being well, finishing a respectable 64th out of approximately 70 runners-a determined effort by all
The girl’s race followed and Alice stormed her way to the front to lead the rest of the pack. The other Tower Road girls seemed to be pacing their selves running about midway down the field. After the first lap, the girls had put them selves in a strong position and had started to overtake- despite the condition being, slippery underfoot. By the home straight, Alice was so far in front, she had won convincingly, and with Kate battling to finish 3rd. Hot on her heels was another tower road shirt- Rebecca (4th) and a determined Kimberly fighting her way 7th place. An outstanding sprint by Laura in the last 20 metres brought her position up 2 places to 12th to complete an all round fantastic performance by the girls. The team therefore won overall- congrats to all runners.
