On Friday March the 13th, 25 keen cross country runners met up with 3 other schools for a 1500m race at Giles Secondary school in Old Leake. The weather was ideal for the races, not too cold nor too warm!

The girls raced first, after a warm up. From the first corner the leading group stretched out in front. Pippa was in this group. She remained 2nd or 3rd for the entire race till the last few metres. When, with a burst of speed, she took the lead and won the race for herself and Tower Road! The rest of the girls ran their best and together managed to secure an overall second place. Congratulations, girls!

After this success, the boys had their race. From the start Jordan led the race and held this position for the entire race; finishing with a fantastic win for himself and Tower Road. Christopher also ran very well finishing in a good position. After totalling up the points, Tower Road 'A' team came third overall. This team consisted of Jordan, Christopher, Braiden, Brandon and Harry. Well done, boys!

As many of the runners are in Year 5, we hope to have really strong teams next season when they are in Year 6!
