With the weather ideal for cross country running, twenty-five children travelled to Giles School, Old Leake to race against four other local schools.

Upper six students at Giles had organised the whole event. The pupils had to follow a 1800m course which the students had laid out on the field.

 

The girls’ race was first. We had a team of five runners. Georgia ran very well and kept up with the leading group. She came third over all. The other girls ran very well too.

 

After a warm-up the boys had their race. There were about sixty boy racers. All the boys ran their best and some even astonished themselves just how well they did! Jordan ran with the lead group and took the lead at times but was eventually beaten into second place by a great rival of his! Christopher came in 5^th place and Harry in 6^th.

 

Everything ran very smoothly and the children had a wonderful time and experience!
